The U.S. is deporting people to countries they aren’t from. Some have been detained and beaten. Ahmed Soliman and Samson Birhane were sent to Equatorial Guinea, after U.S. judges blocked their deportations to their home countries because of the dangers they faced there. After speaking out about their treatment, police hooded and beat the men on their heads, backs and ribs. Witnesses say officers demanded, “Where is the phone?” as they beat them. The U.S. says its third-country deportations are lawful. Human rights groups are demanding Ahmed and Samson’s immediate release and says they remain at risk of torture. #Deportation #Immigration #HumanRights #EquatorialGuinea
