We only restrict content that violates our community guidelines or broadly accepted legal and ethical standards. This includes content involving illegal activity, hate speech, bullying, harassment, explicit nudity, unlicensed copyrighted material, or anything intended to cause harm.

UpScrolled does not and will never shadowban content. The very idea of UpScrolled was born from the frustration with shadowbanning and quiet censorship on mainstream platforms.
We believe users deserve transparency — not silence. If content violates our community guidelines, you’ll know. If we have to shut down your account, we’ll be transparent about why. But your voice will never be suppressed in the shadows.

UpScrolled will never share your data with third parties for marketing, profiling, or commercial gain. We only disclose user data as required by Australian law — such as in response to a valid court order or lawful request — and always in accordance with our privacy policy.
We will always comply with the law and only the law—do not share any information with any law enforcement agencies that we have not been compelled to provide.
UpScrolled puts you in control of how you see content.
No silent shaping. No black-box AI. Just feeds that are open, fair, and designed to give you real choice.
We’re also developing optional discovery features — additional feeds that may use AI to optimize recommendations based on your prior behavior. This is still a work in progress, and will always be opt-in, fair, and transparent. Our commitment is to straightforward, understandable tech that puts users first.
Currently, UpScrolled’s core servers are hosted in Dublin, Ireland — chosen for its robust digital infrastructure, strong connectivity to both Europe and the U.S., and its reputation for strict data protection and privacy standards. It’s a location that reflects our commitment to performance, reliability, and user rights.
For speed and availability worldwide, we also make use of global CDNs and edge locations to ensure content loads quickly wherever our users are.
We do rely on some large-scale cloud providers at this stage — not because it’s our ideal, but because building fully independent infrastructure takes time. We’d rather be transparent about that than claim otherwise. Over time, we plan to reduce reliance on these providers and move toward greater independence.
We closely monitor the evolving regulatory environment, and will act quickly if changes require us to adjust where or how data is hosted.
