Kids should learn the history of Palestine to make sense of current world affairs. The growing disillusionment with corrupt leaders in the west, the sale of TikTok US, ICE intimidation tactics and suppression of speech all have connections to recent Palestinian history and the genocide. The history exists in rigorous form in academic literature from the likes of Ilan Pappe, Rashid Khalidi and Raz Segal but now we’re going to make it available in a more accessible form. I’m delighted to share that I’ve sponsored the creation of Palestine 101 — a high-production, youth-focused video curriculum created to help young people engage the history, resistance, and national culture of Palestine with care, honesty, and humanity. The 12 module series was developed in collaboration with globally respected scholars including those I mentioned above.
