In 2014, I adopted a lop I named Chaplin-Chappie for short. He was by my side through so many life changes: moving to Los Angeles, getting married, and the beginning of my pin business- Kimchi Kreative. In 2021, I created a series of bunny pins inspired by Chappie, with a portion of the proceeds donated to rabbit rescues. I called them Charity Chappies. Over the past 10 years, Charity Chappies helped raise $7,288 for rabbit rescues. And when Chappie passed away in my arms, I was completely grief stricken. In that heartbreak, I found immense comfort in the messages from those who had supported the project. People sharing how much their Charity Chappie pins meant to them and how they would always treasure them. It reminded me how much joy this little project had brought, and how it had been able to offer a small but meaningful helping hand to rescues. And after losing Chappie, it was something I just couldn’t let go of. So, I’ve launched a new campaign on backerkit to expand Charity Chappies to include even more bunny breeds-reflecting the rabbits we love and cherish most. My hope is that this collection can continue to grow and support even more rabbit rescues. Staying true to our roots, 15% of all profits from this campaign will be donated directly to rabbit rescues. This is in honor of Chappie. That he can continue to help and bring joy to the world, just as he did to mine. This campaign is entirely word of mouth, so if you’re able to like, share, or spread the word in any way, it truly means more than I can say. (Link is in the bio 🐰) Thank you & Love you lots.
